As one of the partners of G and G Peppers, LLC, Greg Cox has been involved in the family agriculture business all his life. He then personally started his own agriculture business in 1975 with grain crops such as corn and soybeans. In 1980 he branched out to producing tomatoes for companies, one of which was Red Gold, Inc. From there he started his U.S. greenhouse production in 1985 with just 500,000 plants. Today, 25 milion seeds are used for transplants.

All vegetable groups are represented, from greenhouse processed vegetables, fresh vegetable plants and greenhouse vegetable production. His total greenhouse plant production operation expanded in 1992 from the USA to Mexico, Greece, Romania, and Hungary .

The high quality pepper seeds and varieties are started in the Cox Farms greenhouses during the month of April. Growing time is 6 weeks in the greenhouses, meaning planting in the field begins first to mid-May. The pepper transplants are transported and planted in the field within 1-2 days of leaving the greenhouse, allowing the same quality as if planted 1-2 hours after leaving the greenhouse. By doing this, there is minimum stress on the plants, giving them a strong start.

To assure optimum growing conditions for the season, drip irrigation is placed in the fields at the proper time. Peppers are harvested 2-3 times at their peak maturity to assure the highest quality for G and G Peppers, LLC during the months of August, September, and October.
